Terms of Service
Ring Pulse is a personal project that shows you your own Oura data. These terms cover what the app does, and what you can expect from it.
Last updated July 18, 2026
1. The short version
- Ring Pulse shows you your own Oura data. It never writes to your Oura account.
- It is not a medical device, and gives no medical advice.
- It is provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee.
- Use your own Oura account, and don’t abuse the service.
By using Ring Pulse you agree to what follows. If you don’t agree, please don’t connect your account.
2. Who provides it
Ring Pulse is operated by Keegan Donley as a personal, non-commercial project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by Oura Health Oy. “Oura” and the Oura ring are trademarks of their respective owners.
3. What Ring Pulse does
Ring Pulse reads your Oura data, with your authorization, and presents it as a dashboard: readiness, sleep, activity, tags, and long-term trends. It is read-only. The app only issues read requests, and never modifies or deletes anything in your Oura account. You need your own Oura account and ring for it to show anything.
4. Not medical advice
Ring Pulse is not a medical device, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. Scores, trends, and correlations in the app are informational, are derived from consumer sensor data, and can be wrong.
Nothing here substitutes for professional medical advice. Talk to a qualified clinician about your health, and never delay or disregard their advice because of something you saw in this app. Correlations describe patterns in your data. They do not establish that one thing caused another.
5. Your responsibilities
- Connect only an Oura account you own and are authorized to use.
- Follow Oura’s own terms. Your relationship with Oura is governed by their terms and conditions.
- Don’t attempt to break, overload, or circumvent the app, its rate limits, or Oura’s API through it, and don’t use it to access anyone else’s data.
- Keep your device and browser secure. Your cached data lives there.
6. Availability
I maintain this in my spare time, and there is no service level agreement. The app may be slow, break, change, or be discontinued at any time without notice. It also depends on Oura’s API. If Oura changes or withdraws access, parts of the app may stop working, which is outside my control.
7. Your data
Ring Pulse stores no health data on any server. What is stored, and where, is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Your local cache is your responsibility. Clearing your browser data clears it, and there is no server-side copy to restore from.
8. Intellectual property
Your health data is yours, and these terms give me no ownership of it. The Ring Pulse name, design, and code are mine. Backdrop photography is either my own work or supplied by Unsplash contributors under the Unsplash License. Oura’s trademarks remain Oura’s.
9. Termination
You can stop at any time: disconnect from the Data page, and revoke access from your Oura account settings. I may suspend or discontinue access, for anyone or for everyone, if the project ends or if use of it threatens the service or Oura’s API.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Ring Pulse is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. I do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the data it displays is accurate or complete.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or health outcomes, arising out of or relating to your use of Ring Pulse. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use Ring Pulse, which is zero.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
13. Changes
I may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the last change. Continuing to use Ring Pulse after an update means you accept it.
